Martin Davies joined Quinn Emanuel in 2011 having been a partner at Olswang LLP since 2000 and Head of Litigation since 2007.

Martin's practice covers the full range of complex commercial disputes, managing and acting on Board level disputes that are of the utmost importance, whether financially or otherwise, to clients. His practice not only encompasses High Court litigation, but also extensive arbitration and Tribunal experience not only before the major Tribunals such as the ICC and LCIA, but also before the Copyright Tribunal, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Football Association Arbitrations and IFTA (Independent Film and Television Alliance) both in the UK and in the US.

Martin's practice spans the commercial spectrum to include corporate and shareholder disputes as well as fraud. He has particular industry knowledge of the communications, wider media, technology and entertainment sectors, as well as sport, and this experience allows him to advise knowledgably on the particular commercial disputes arising of them.

These sectors, like many others, are highly regulated and Martin also regularly advises on various public law issues to include conducting judicial reviews for both applicants and regulators. He also has considerable experience of running internal investigations on behalf of clients to include then appearing before the regulator.

Acting for the ITV Group Plc companies (ITV Broadcasting and Consumer) and ITV Network Limited in Commercial Court proceedings against the STV Group relating to the broadcasting and sponsorship of programming. Trial due May 2011 for 5/6 weeks.

Advising in a series of Commercial Court cases in relation to loans made by the JSC BTA Bank of Kazakhstan, covering issues in both Kazakhstan and Russia.

Advising the British Phonographic Industry Limited in relation to a challenge to the terms of the Licensing Scheme for the provision of online and mobile music services to the public for private use, promulgated by the Performing Right Society and Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society.

Advising the Royal Mail Group and Post Office in relation to numerous regulatory challenges arising out of the closure of Post Offices through the UK.

Acting for a number of companies in the PartyGaming group in relation to online gaming, defending international arbitration and court proceedings. The matter covered multiple jurisdictions including the UK, USA, Gibraltar and the BVI.
