Biography

 

Patrick Doolittle is a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges, LLP.  Patrick's practice focuses on complex business and white collar criminal litigation.  He has had experience and success litigating cases involving trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, civil RICO claims, and employment disputes. 

 

Mr. Doolittle also has extensive experience in cases involving securities fraud, antitrust offenses, export offenses, mail and wire fraud, tax evasion and law enforcement Section 17200 matters.  Moreover, he regularly represents clients in connection with internal investigations, government investigations, and SEC enforcement matters.  He has been with the firm since 2003.

He also regularly represents individual defendants, including officers and directors of public companies, in connection with government and corporate investigations.

Representing numerous current and former officers and directors in derivative litigations pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, California state court, and Delaware Chancery court.

 

Represented client in consolidated securities class action in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.

 

Representing client in "short swing" trading case brought under Section 16(b) of the Exchange Act.

 

Representing former executive of medical device company in securities fraud and wire fraud prosecution and parallel SEC enforcement action.

Secured defense verdict after trial for corporate entity of restaurant chain in a sexual harassment lawsuit pending in Contra Costa County Superior Court.

 

Obtained appellate victory for large financial software provider in a class action lawsuit involving alleged violations of California Consumers Legal Remedy Act and California Business and Professions Code Section 17200.  The California Court of Appeal affirmed the trial court’s decision sustaining a demurrer to plaintiffs’ complaint.

 

Represented former Google employee in litigation concerning stock purchase agreement in Santa Clara County Superior Court.

 

Representing large computer manufacturer in complex employment case pending in United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
