Biography

 

Gabe is a partner in the Silicon Valley Office of Quinn Emanuel. His practice focuses on intellectual property cases with an emphasis on patent litigation. Gabe has represented plaintiffs and defendants in patent cases in federal courts in California, New York, Texas, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin. He has tried cases before juries involving patent infringement, copyright infringement, and stock purchase disputes.  Gabe holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s in biotechnology, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Notable Representations

 

Obtained writ of mandamus from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on behalf of Genentech, ordering transfer of patent infringement case from the Eastern District of Texas to the Northern District of California.  In re Genentech, 566 F.3d 1338 (Fed. Cir. 2009).

 

Successfully represented Roche against Stanford University in case involving HIV diagnostic test kits.  Bd. of Trustees of Leland Stanford Jr. Univ. v. Roche Molecular Systems, Inc., 563 F. Supp. 2d 1016 (N.D. Cal. 2008).
