Biography
Robert Juman graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of The Harvard Law Review. Following graduation, he clerked for the Hon. Edward Rafeedie, Judge of the Central District of California.
From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Juman was a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York. During his tenure at the United States Attorney's Office, Mr. Juman conducted numerous grand jury investigations and four jury trials, obtaining convictions of all defendants. Mr. Juman successfully argued on behalf of the government before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on three occasions.
At Quinn Emanuel, he handles a wide range of commercial litigation, including real estate, antitrust and general contract disputes, but specializes in white collar crime, internal investigations, and financial fraud. Representing the Management Committee of a major national class action law firm in connection with a high-profile criminal mail fraud and obstruction of justice prosecution of the firm and several of its controlling partners.
Represented Zurich Financial Services and its affiliates in a severance dispute with a former executive. Obtained a favorable trial verdict in New York Supreme Court.
Represented Scotts Lawn and Garden in an antitrust jury trial in the Southern District of New York. Plaintiff alleged an unlawful agreement in restraint of trade and conspiracy to monopolize the consumer market for herbicides and sought $250 million in damages. Obtained a complete defense verdict after four weeks of trial.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of General Electric in a dispute with a former distributor. Successfully enforced a $17 million international arbitration award against Aeroflot. |
