Biography

 

Chris Price’s practice focuses on business litigation with an emphasis on trade secret misappropriation, employment litigation, and class action litigation.  He has represented clients such as Mattel, IBM, Washington Mutual, and Avery Dennison in litigation matters.  In addition, Mr. Price has significant experience in litigating malicious prosecution claims.






Notable Representations

 

Represented plaintiff real estate developer against a civil engineering company in a case involving fraud in a real estate development dispute.  After substituting into the case weeks before trial, obtained jury verdict finding the defendant liable for fraud and defeating cross-claims against client. 


Represented defendant law firm in case involving claims for malicious prosecution, abuse of process and other torts.  Obtained judgment via anti-SLAPP motion on all claims and successfully defended judgment on appeal.

 

Represented Zurich Reinsurance in an arbitration in which plaintiff, an independent movie production company, claimed that client breached an agreement to form a partnership to co-finance motion pictures.  Plaintiff sought over $20 million in compensatory damages.  Obtained defense judgment for client after four week arbitration.

 

Obtained summary judgment on breach of contract and ERISA claims brought against Fortune 500 company.  Successfully defended the grant of summary judgment on appeal to Ninth Circuit.

 

Obtained summary judgment on claims of age discrimination and breach of contract brought against Fortune 500 company.
