Biography
Bruce Zisser’s practice is focused almost exclusively on patent litigation. With over fourteen years experience litigating patent disputes and, before that, over ten years experience as an electrical engineer, including more than five years working on a wide range of high tech communication systems in the United States Air Force, Mr. Zisser is able to bring substantial experience to bear on the complex legal and technical issues he faces. Mr. Zisser has litigated matters in Federal court in California, Texas and Delaware as well as before the International Trade Commission. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Representative Clients Mr. Zisser has and continues to represent a number of large multinational corporations, including Samsung, Intermec and Northrop-Grumman. Notable Representations
Represented Northrop-Gruman in its industry-wide enforcement of a pioneering patent related to fiber optic communications. Helped achieve settlements totaling over $200 million.
Represented a global telecommunications company before the International Trade Commission (ITC) in a patent dispute to enforce patents related to controlling the power transmitted by cell phones. Succeeded in convincing the ITC Staff attorney that none of the three asserted patents was infringed and at least one was invalid. Represented Unova, Inc. (now Intermec) in a series of four cases against a total of eleven of the largest computer companies to enforce Unova’s pioneering patents on the smart battery management technology used in virtually every notebook computer. After litigating several of the cases to the eve of trial, help secure nine judgments of infringement and validity and settlements totaling over $200 million.
