We represented Warner Music Group in a patent case involving the downloading of music samples from the Internet. Intouch sued WMG and five others alleging that their web sites infringed its patent because they permitted users to download samples. All defendants except WMG settled for licenses. We invalidated all independent claims on the ground that the Music Boulevard site anticipated the patent. We then obtained summary judgment of non-infringement on the three remaining dependent claims and won an award of attorneys’ fees.
