Banking and Financial Institution Litigation

Banking and financial litigation is one of our principal practice areas.  We have tried virtually every type of banking dispute, including lender-liability actions, suits by loan participants, actions arising out of letters of credit and other forms of commercial paper, commercial and residential foreclosure actions and loan fraud matters.  In addition to banks, we represent many other financial institutions in a broad range of disputes, including insurance, real estate, securities, antitrust and contract.

We have also represented numerous clients (some of them financial institutions) in prosecuting claims against banks and other financial institutions.  We have represented financial institutions in class action lawsuits covering a wide spectrum of claims that proxy materials were false and misleading to cases in which the institutions were accused of overcharging customers.  A good number of those cases concerned the mortgage business.  The firm has represented banking clients in dozens of matters involving borrower fraud, wrongful foreclosure and challenges to escrow procedures.
