Our Practice

Our work includes virtually every type of business dispute, from patent and copyright litigation to securities litigation, international arbitration to antitrust litigation, class action litigation and employment litigation to white collar crime. Over 50% of our practice is intellectual property litigation.  We represent Fortune 500 companies and other enterprises in a broad spectrum of business disputes spanning many industries, including high technology, entertainment, media, aerospace, defense, banking, computer, software, real estate, construction, securities, and insurance.

It is no secret that most business litigators, especially at major "full service" law firms, have no significant jury trial experience. At trial, a client's net worth may be in play.  It's winner-take-all, and disasters can happen. It's not a time for learning on the job. Unlike most business litigation firms, we go to trial -- often. Frequently, at the eleventh hour, just before trial begins, we are brought in to replace existing counsel and try the case.  See a representative list of matters in which we have been substituted in as trial counsel.

Opposing lawyers know that we know how to win at trial. That reduces the "hold up" factor when we represent defendants and enables us to achieve settlements others cannot. We believe we have the best group of business jury trial lawyers in the United States. We have litigated against -- and have beaten -- some of the most prominent plaintiff's trial lawyers in the country.

We have also won more than our share of cases representing plaintiffs.  Our track record representing plaintiffs speaks for itself.  Since 2002, we have won more nine-figure verdicts than any other law firm.  When representing plaintiffs, and our clients choose to settle, our skills as trial lawyers result in greater recoveries.  Judgments and settlements obtained by our lawyers exceed $6 billion.  We have the resources to litigate any plaintiff's case, from complex technical patent cases to the world's most sophisticated financial fraud. See a representative list of matters we have handled for plaintiffs.  We like to have "skin in the game" and invite opportunities for contingent fee and other alternative fee arrangements.
