Gemma Anderson is a Partner in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. She is an experienced commercial litigator specialising in complex cross-border commercial disputes, with a focus on technology, contractual, contentious insolvency and privacy and data protection matters.
Gemma’s experience spans the full range of dispute resolution mechanisms and a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on the technology sector. She has represented clients in relation to pre-litigation strategy and large-scale commercial litigation in the English High Court and Court of Appeal. She also has extensive experience of international arbitration, under both institutional and ad hoc rules, and mediation.
Gemma commenced her career at a premier litigation firm in New Zealand before moving to the UK to gain her Master of Law (First Class Honours) at the University of Cambridge in 2009. Before joining Quinn Emanuel, Gemma was a disputes partner at another global law firm.

- Representing Fujitsu Services Limited in relation to the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry.
- Defending an international investment fund in a claim brought by a former trader in the English Commercial Court and related proceedings in New York.
- Representing a German software company in a long-running, complex licensing dispute with a UK counterparty.
- Defending a global software company in a data privacy representative action in the English High Court for alleged breaches of data protection legislation.
- Advising the creditors’ committee of an international mining company in relation to potential claims arising from the company’s US Chapter 11 proceedings and related UK administration.
- Acting for a global software company in English High Court and ICC arbitration proceedings for breach of license against Indian and Indonesian counterparties.
- Representing a Japanese software company in relation to disclosure of its confidential information in third-party intellectual property proceedings in England and India.
- Acting for a US consulting company in English High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings against a Norwegian for breach of contract.
- Acting for a large mining company in the English High Court and Court of Appeal with respect to US$130 million dispute concerning an iron ore mine in Sierra Leone.
- Representing the beneficiaries of a Nevis law trust with assets of US$400 million in obtaining the removal of the trustee and protector and the recovery of all assets following interlocutory worldwide freezing orders.
- Representing a leading Asian telecommunications company in LCIA arbitration proceedings related to the acquisition of a Nepalese mobile telephone operator.
- Acting for the owner and operator of an electronic racing championship series in English High Court and ICC arbitration proceedings for breach of contract.
