Dawn David is an associate that started Quinn Emanuel’s Salt Lake City office in 2018. Dawn represents and works closely with clients in all aspects and stages of offensive and defensive litigation matters. Her practice focuses on complex intellectual property litigation. She also represents clients in cases involving false advertising, trade secrets, trademarks, trade dress, and copyrights, as well as employment, contract, and environmental contamination disputes. Dawn’s experience also includes representing clients before the International Trade Commission, in DOJ investigations, and in global asset recovery efforts.
Dawn has represented clients in intellectual property disputes involving a wide range of technologies including, among others, graphics processing/architecture, mobile device technologies, computer networking, software, video streaming, digital rights management, network security, content delivery networks and systems, video compression, telecommunications, graphical user interfaces, medical diagnostic testing, medical equipment, barcode readers, transportation and traffic safety equipment, food processing equipment, hunting equipment, construction equipment, and household appliances. Dawn has degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management.
Dawn received her J.D., magna cum laude, in 2013 from the University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School where she was the Managing Editor of the Review of Intellectual Property Law. She is admitted to practice in Utah and Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
