Rüdiger is a German qualified attorney (Rechtsanwalt) and an appointed professor of law. He is member of the Hamburg and Stuttgart offices where he focuses on domestic and international antitrust litigation.

Rüdiger has extensive experience in handling complex litigation matters at all levels of judicial proceedings, from pre-trial strategy advice to the highest instances, including the German Bundesgerichtshof (Federal Court of Justice) and the European Court of Justice. His broad courtroom expertise stems from his track record of appearances before almost all German district and appellate courts.

Rüdiger has more than 15 years of experience in the emerging field of German antitrust litigation. He started in 2005 during his time as a research assistant to Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Ulrich Immenga at the University of Göttingen, where he obtained his doctorate summa cum laude with a thesis on the private enforcement of German and European antitrust laws. Rüdiger has remained engaged in this area since and represented clients in some of the biggest cases in Germany. Above that, he is co-author of the handbook “Antitrust Proceedings” published by Beck and he is responsible co-editor and co-author of the practical guide “Antitrust Damages Actions” published by RWS-Verlag (2018). Rüdiger has been named a Future Leader in Competition by Who’s Who Legal in 2018 -2021, and was ranked by Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers 2019 for Competition Law and Dispute Resolution. Rüdiger was selected by his peers for inclusion in the 11th and 12th Editions of The Best Lawyers in Germany for his work in Competition/Antitrust Law and Litigation. He was recognized as “Highly Recommended” for Dispute Resolution in Germany by the JUVE Handbuch 2020/2021, citing competitors who describe him as an “extremely clever strategist for cartel damages.”

Prior to joining the firm, Rüdiger was a senior associate in the Hamburg and Brussels offices of another first tier U.S. law firm.
