Pierce McMahon is a Senior Associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Perth office. He joined the firm in 2019.
Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Pierce worked at another international top tier firm for almost 6 years.
He has acted for clients in a broad range of areas including in large and complex disputes arising in the energy and resources sector, contentious corporate matters, and disputes in the building and construction industry (both on the principal and contractor side).
He has experience acting for clients in the District Court of Western Australia, Supreme Court of Western Australia and in the Federal Court of Australia. He also has experience acting for clients in international arbitrations under the ICC, SIAC and UNCITRAL Rules, and in adjudications under state security of payment legislation, including the WA CCA, and SA and NT SOPA.
In 2015 he was seconded for four months to a global oil & gas company as legal counsel to their in-house finance and accounting teams to assist in the preparation and submission of a detailed response to various ATO audit inquiries arising out of the construction of a large mining project based off the coast of Western Australia.
