Valérie Munoz-Pons is counsel in Quinn Emanuel’s Paris office.  She joined the firm in 2017.  Her practice focuses on white collar crime, compliance and investigations. Prior to joining the firm, Valérie worked in the litigation and white collar crime group of a major French law firm in Paris.  Valérie has assisted clients before criminal authorities and courts at all stages of proceedings, from investigation to final hearing, in very high profile matters involving frauds and corruption.  She has a particular expertise in complex white collar crime (corruption, favoritism, publishing of false company accounts, misuse of corporate assets).  She has also assisted French and international clients on compliance issues (codes of conduct, internal audit procedures, risk analysis, whistle-blowing, trainings…) in the context of both French legal requirements (Sapin II Law, Duty of care) and foreign regulations (UKBA, FCPA) they may be subject to.  As part of her activities, she has  assisted clients with matters relating to investigations.  Valérie taught compliance at HEC Business school during several years. She is now teaching at Sciences Po and at the IHEDN (Institut des hautes études de défense nationale).

  • Assistance to a tobacco manufacturer in connection with the handling of compliance issues.

  • Assistance to a French industrial conglomerate (specializing in the aerospace, defence, nuclear, and automotive industrial sectors) in the scope of complaint for forgery and production of suspected forged documents through a subcontractor.
  • Assistance to a French transport, logistics and freight forwarder company in a matter involving fraud and attempt of fraud, concealment, forgery of documents, breach of trust and concealment of breach of trust.
  • Assistance to the former human resources director of a telecommunications group in connection with the opening of a judicial enquiry following the implementation of a reorganization plan and suicides committed by employees.
  • Assistance to a French media group and a telecomm European company in the implantation of the new Sapin II law provisions (risk mapping, code of conduct, whistleblowing system, new rules on lobbying ).
