Lakshana R a dual-qualified lawyer (England & Wales and India) with expertise in international arbitration (commercial and investment treaty matters), complex multi-jurisdictional litigation and white-collar investigation across sectors, including energy, banking, and construction.

She was an Associate at the Mumbai office of a pre-eminent law firm for 3 years, representing clients in ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations (including under UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICC, LCIA and SIAC Rules) seated in both common law and civil jurisdictions. Across matters, she was responsible for drafting pleadings, arbitrator diligence, interviewing witnesses and experts, negotiating the settlement strategy and assisting as second chair during oral hearings. In collaboration with foreign counsel, she advised on litigation in the UK courts and regulatory investigations in Singapore, Mauritius and Germany and assisted in evaluating the potential impact of Russian sanctions for her client’s global businesses.

In 2022, she was awarded a full scholarship (sponsored by LALIVE) to pursue the prestigious LLM in international dispute settlement (MIDS) at Geneva, Switzerland. At her leisure, Lakshana is an advanced level practitioner of hatha and ashtanga yoga and she has experience in leading yoga classes.
