Dr. Andreas Ruster is a German-qualified attorney (Rechtsanwalt) with extensive expertise in handling clients’ complex litigation matters throughout all stages of the litigation life-cycle. Dr. Ruster provides strategic pre-litigation advice and he represents clients in court and arbitration proceedings as well as settlement negotiations and enforcement procedures.

Dr. Ruster assists clients in various industries and fields. He has particular experience in pursuing claims against governments and state bodies as well as in dealing with new technologies and innovative legal issues. Dr. Ruster is also very active in antitrust litigation (cartel damages, abuse of dominance, state aid, etc.), where he has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants. His practice further covers, among others, GDPR/privacy damages, product liability and patent/IP cases.

Dr. Ruster combines academic excellence (he gained 1st place in both German legal state exams; his doctorate was awarded summa cum laude) with a strong business sense, a solution-driven, and pragmatic outlook, as well as clear communication. Having lived in France, the UK, and the US, he is happy to assist clients in both English and French, as well as his native German.

Dr. Ruster regularly publishes, speaks, and lectures on topics related to his practice areas. Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Dr. Ruster was an associate with another first-tier U.S. law firm.
