Leonid’s practice focuses on both international commercial and investment treaty arbitration as well as domestic and international litigation. He advises clients in cross-border multi-jurisdictional disputes as well as pre-litigation strategy. Leonid is also involved in the representation of clients in regulatory investigations on state and federal levels. He has a particular interest in construction, technology and data related disputes as well as art and cultural heritage related matters.
Before joining Quinn Emanuel in Zurich, Leonid was working as in-house counsel in Russian and Swiss/American multinationals in the energy and manufacturing sectors. He worked in various roles covering CIS related matters as well as multiple EU jurisdictions from the corporate headquarter and also as regional managing counsel. This allows Leonid to see matters through the client’s eyes particularly well. He is valued for his creative approach in managing complex negotiations and conflicts, with the ability to pay due attention to the impact cultural background creates in such situations.
Leonid studied at the University of Cologne and UCL in London and holds a Magister Juris degree from the University of Cologne. He also holds an Executive Master degree in International Business Law from the university of St. Gallen, Switzerland. During his career Leonid was on assignments with the German Mission to the OSZE in Vienna as well as the German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.
*Leonid is a German qualified attorney, registered with the Bar Association of Cologne, Germany. He is enlisted in the register of EU/EFTA attorneys at the court of Zurich permitted to represent clients in Swiss courts on a regular basis, EU/EFTA register, Art. 28 BGFA.
