Tom Brockington is a senior associate in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. He joined the firm in 2023. His practice focuses on complex and high-value commercial litigation and arbitration, with a particular focus on work in the financial services and banking sectors. Tom has experience of both wholesale and retail banking litigation, as well as general commercial litigation.
His specific financial services experience includes: interest rate swaps mis-selling claims, claims relating to other derivatives (under both ISDA and GMRA Master Agreements) and mis-selling claims under the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Tom has significant experience of claims in the insurance sector, and has advised on issues under the Third Parties (Rights against Insurers) Act 2010. He has worked on a number of disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions, including breach of confidence claims. Tom was a key member of the team which successfully advised AXA France in its High Court claim against Santander, in which Santander was found liable to pay £676 million to AXA France (AXA France v Santander Cards UK [2025] EWHC 1881 (Comm)).

Prior to joining the firm, Tom practiced at a Magic Circle law firm and an international firm. In 2020, he was seconded to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, where he advised on regulatory issues arising under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and claims for judicial review.
Tom graduated with a first-class degree in Classics from the University of Durham in 2015 before completing his legal studies at BPP University.
