Summer Associate Testimonials
Each year we ask summer associates to describe their experiences at the firm. If you would like to read what former summer associates say about the firm.
Summers at Quinn are given the chance to immediately take on responsibility and make real contributions. I started doing substantive work on an actual case on my first day of the summer, and my writing was included in a motion we filed in my second w...
The Quinn summer experience is frankly undersold. Before I started, I heard about how I would get substantive work experience, but I had no idea the extent to which that would be true. This summer, I’ve worked almost exclusively on client matters. On...
Quinn delivered on everything they promised during the interview process – really interesting and substantive work; a collegial and fun work environment; and just an overall great, hands-on experience. And Quinn did this all through a virtual summer ...
My summer at Quinn was a really great experience that definitely exceeded my (already high) expectations! I helped draft a Federal Circuit brief, worked on a Supreme Court amicus brief, helped with a voting rights case, and contributed research on a ...
As a Quinn Emanuel Summer Associate, I was treated as a member of the team. Quinn’s program gave me experience in several different areas of litigation and a broad view of the enormous opportunities Quinn offers. I received many substantive and chall...
Quinn Emanuel’s summer program provides what every law firm should: An experience representative of what you’ll actually be doing as a young associate. Even in the midst of a pandemic, the firm delivered that experience. This summer, I drafted briefs...
Quinn managed to give us a true “Quinn” experience this summer, even virtually. I was offered opportunities to try just about anything I expressed interest in. At the same time, all of my assignments were substantive, and I was able to see the applic...
During my time with Quinn Emanuel, I had a lot of opportunities to do very substantive legal work: I drafted an opposition to a motion to stay and a motion in limine. I also got to second-chair a deposition. I also got plenty of practice doing meanin...
As a summer associate, I had the opportunity to work on everything from breach of contract disputes to thorny constitutional questions. I had real assignments on real cases, not make work, and every project taught me something new. An absolute highli...
After a summer at Quinn, I feel like I finally know what it means to be a good lawyer. And that’s because I was given substantive, meaningful assignments and worked with some of the best attorneys around. While friends at other firms were doing proje...
A summer at Quinn is unlike a summer anywhere else. Because of COVID-19, my peers at other firms either had their programs cancelled or spent their shortened summer programs doing busywork. In contrast, my summer consisted of substantive work and mea...
I was terrified that Big Law in New York would mean a docket of exclusively banking and financial institutions litigation. While QE definitely had those opportunities available to me if I wanted them, my summer was spent working on cases whose facts ...
From day 1 I was working on complex plaintiff-side antitrust cases with billions of dollars in damages on the line, I was interacting with partners on a constant basis, and I had more mentors available than I could even fit into my schedule. I can’t ...
As a summer associate at QE, your work matters. There were numerous times throughout the summer when I saw something that I had produced used in a deposition or sent to a client. For anyone looking for a substantive summer experience where you are tr...
My favorite part of the summer, was the mock trial program. I can’t think of a more valuable experience than getting to try a full jury trial, from voir dire to closings, and even getting to hear the jury deliberate. Doing the trial over Zoom was cha...
The best part—among many great parts—of QE’s summer program is the agency the firm gives to its summer associates. If you’re interested in particular subject matters, or developing a certain skill, or even working on a specific case, the firm does ev...
The real scoop about the QE summer associate program is that the work is real. One of my assignments was to prepare a reply brief for an inter partes review proceeding. I took part in the discussion about the arguments we wanted to make, wrote the fi...
Throughout the summer at Quinn, I got the opportunity to do substantive work on real matters. None of it felt like busy work; legal research assignments I worked on were used in real briefs and to make real litigation strategy decisions, and drafts o...
