Brendan is an associate in the firm’s New York office.  He represents individuals and companies in complex litigation in state and federal courts and arbitration forums nationwide.

Brendan has litigated more than a dozen expedited cases in the courts of New York and Delaware, including disputes involving contested mergers and acquisitions, breaches of restrictive covenants, misappropriation of trade secrets, and common law fraud.  He has extensive experience litigating disputes concerning structured financial products, interest rate and commodity derivatives, tax receivable agreements, and asset backed securities.  He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in antitrust cases.  And he has significant experience representing investors in the life settlement industry.

Brendan has obtained notable successes for his clients.  Brendan represented Sculptor Capital Management in expedited litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery concerning its $720 million sale to Rithm Capital Management.  Brendan represented alternative energy investors in several nine-figure disputes arising from the 2021 Texas Winter Storm Uri, including obtaining emergency injunctive relief for his clients at both the trial and appellate levels.  And Brendan obtained more than $500 million in settlements on behalf of investors in ISDAfix-linked instruments.

In his pro bono practice, Brendan represents a victim of police torture in Chicago and presented evidence at a suppression hearing more than twenty years after his client’s original convictions that resulted in an order for new trials on multiple felony charges.

Brendan has appeared on behalf of clients in the courts of New York, Delaware, Florida, California, Massachusetts, and Illinois and has litigated cross-border disputes involving assets in the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, and Jersey.  He has taken more than two billion dollars’ worth of disputes to trial in state and federal courts and arbitration forums.  He has examined witnesses at trials and evidentiary hearings; argued (and won) dispositive motions; and when necessary, successfully represented his clients on appeal.

Brendan has been recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch,” by Commercial Litigation in 2024 and 2025.
