Deshani Ellis

Deshani Ellis is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Los Angeles office. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including in areas of financial litigation, intellectual property, government investigation, and antitrust matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Deshani worked as an associate at a large international law firm where she represented clients in a range of complex litigation matters, including multidistrict litigation. She also has experience in all aspects of litigation in state and federal courts, including drafting motions, working with experts, leading document review teams, preparing fact and expert witnesses for depositions, and pretrial and trial preparation. Additionally, she’s represented companies and individuals in investigations by the SEC and DOJ related to alleged violations of the securities laws. Deshani worked as a judicial law clerk for two years in the district court level.

Deshani received her J.D. with honors from the University of California, Irvine School of Law. While she was in law school, she served as an editor of the UC Irvine Law Review. She also worked as a legal extern for the Office of Chief Legal Counsel, Internal Revenue Service, where she appeared before the U.S. Tax Court to represent the Small Business/Self-Employed operating division. Prior to attending law school, Deshani served as a Teach for America corps member in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
