Matthew Mazzotta is an Of Counsel in Quinn Emanuel’s Boston office. He joined the firm in 2020.  His practice focuses on class actions, consumer litigation, civil litigation, arbitration and appellate advocacy. 

Matthew represents clients in a variety of class actions and civil lawsuits, arbitrations and mediations.  He has secured dismissals and victories at class certification for clients in multiple nationwide collective and class actions involving claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices, fraud, misrepresentation, consumer protection violations, product defects, employee misclassifications, and minimum wage and hour violations.  His civil litigation experience includes successfully representing clients in lawsuits and arbitrations regarding alleged breaches of contract, unfair and deceptive trade practices, breaches of fiduciary duties, and labor and employment claims, among others.  Matthew has served on multiple victorious trial and arbitration teams, including winning a $100 million judgment on behalf of a electronics manufacturing client in an international arbitration in Hong Kong.  He also has experience representing clients in internal investigations and governmental and regulatory proceedings. Matthew’s present and past clients span a number of industries, including automotive, travel, technology, personal services, private equity, software, financial services, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, hospitals, medical devices, medical imaging, electronics, e commerce, retail, consumer goods, construction, higher education, and insurance.

Matthew maintains an active pro bono practice, and has previously won multiple awards for voting rights litigation and advocacy on behalf of citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel, Matthew worked at Ropes & Gray, LLP in Boston, and completed clerkships on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.  He also served as a legal fellow in the Office of the Governor’s Legal Counsel for former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.  Prior to law school, Matthew was a journalist in Boston, primarily at NECN.
