Nicholas is an Associate in Quinn Emanuel's Sydney office. He joined the firm in 2024. Nicholas's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and cross-border disputes, including class actions, corporate governance and financial services litigation, and international arbitration. He acts for both plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes proceedings in Australian state and federal courts.

Nicholas’s experience includes defending multinational automotive manufacturers in multiple class action proceedings, acting for a liquidated company in a cross-border financing dispute under English and New York law, and defending former non-executive directors against insolvent trading claims. He has also negotiated settlements in pre-litigious disputes and advised on regulatory matters involving white collar crime.

Prior to joining the firm, Nicholas was an Associate in the dispute resolution group at a national law firm in Melbourne, where he gained experience in international arbitration and commercial litigation in superior courts. He defended a US technology company in an international arbitration concerning solicitation and misuse of confidential information claims, obtaining a favourable settlement after final hearing.

Nicholas previously worked as a lawyer in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, where he advised the Premier's Office on major litigation involving the State, including class actions and a special case before the High Court of Australia regarding state taxation powers.

In 2019, Nicholas was Aide to the Hon. Linda Dessau AC CVO, Governor of Victoria. Before law school, he completed officer training at the Royal Australian Naval College and served as a Maritime Warfare Officer on board HMAS Parramatta.
