Daniel Sisgoreo is an associate in Quinn Emanuel's New York office. He is a generalist litigator whose practice spans industries, jurisdictions, and substantive legal areas—from securities and corporate governance to computer fraud, real estate, employment discrimination, and common law tort and contract claims. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants at all stages of litigation, beginning from before the complaint is filed through the conclusion of the last appeal.
Daniel has a track record of results at every stage of litigation. Most recently, Daniel and his colleagues obtained a pre-trial settlement valued at more than $1 billion for a leading private jet operator after years of litigation related to a counterparty's failure to fulfill certain contractual maintenance obligations. A skilled tactician, he has also demonstrated an ability to identify and execute on case-determinative strategies early in litigation, securing dispositive rulings that he has successfully defended on appeal.
Daniel brings a global perspective to his practice, functioning as a strategic advisor across legal, reputational, and cross-border dimensions of a dispute. He has advised overseas clients on U.S. legal disputes, and has experience handling high-profile matters that require a coordinated legal and media strategy, working alongside crisis communications professionals to manage reputational exposure while advancing clients’ litigation objectives. Fluent in French and proficient in written and spoken Mandarin, Daniel enjoys delivering substantive legal advice in a client’s native language and navigating the complexities of presenting foreign language evidence in U.S. courtrooms.
Prior to joining Quinn Emanuel in 2023, Daniel was an associate at another international law firm, where he represented a global health technology company in the largest-ever voluntary recall of a medical device in U.S. history, developing case strategies that culminated in a global settlement on favorable terms. Before that, Daniel served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada and at a Canadian provincial appellate court. As a law student, Daniel also interned for the prosecution at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), an experience that nurtured an ongoing interest in public international law.
Daniel maintains an active pro bono practice, having represented criminal defendants in federal court, individuals in family law matters, and asylum-seekers facing deportation. One of Daniel's proudest achievements was preventing the deportation of a political asylum claimant who faced torture in his country of origin and now lives free from further persecution in the United States.
