Steven Yaffe is an associate in Quinn Emanuel’s Washington, D.C. office. He rejoined the firm in 2025 after clerking for the Honorable Judge John F. Kness of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Steven previously joined the firm as a Summer Associate in 2022 and as an Associate in 2023.
Steven graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Executive Online Editor for the Georgetown Law Journal and as Operations Director for Georgetown’s moot court team. In law school, Steven also worked as a research assistant to Professor Frederick Lawrence and helped edit the leading casebook on Higher Education and the Law.
Prior to law school, Steven worked for two leading Washington, D.C. public affairs firms, where he crafted messaging and developed press strategies for corporate and nonprofit clients around complex policy issues, including renewable energy and intellectual property disputes. Before public relations, Steven served as an on-the-record political spokesman and rapid-response communicator for Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, the Illinois Republican Party, and the Republican Governors Association.
