Quinn Emanuel Of Counsel Dawn Yamane Hewett, Seton Hall Law School’s 2019 Distinguished Practitioner of International Law, to speak on “The Global Fight Against Corruption in 2019”

Events

Corruption is an age-old problem, but bribery of foreign officials began to be criminalized only 42 years ago and actually prosecuted in earnest only in the past decade or so. How does the U.S. government combat corruption overseas? How is enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act under the Trump administration? How are investors and sovereign states raising corruption in suits under investment treaties? Dawn Yamane Hewett, Washington, D.C. based Of Counsel at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, will draw on her experiences in private practice and government as Deputy General Counsel for Strategic Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Commerce to discuss these questions and more in this timely talk. This event will take place at Seton Hall Law School in Newark, NJ on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 5:00pm.
