Quinn Emanuel Partner Eric Huang will speak in collaboration with other leading practitioners at PLI’s June 30th seminar, “Understanding Patent Law 2015.” The program will explore both foundational patent law concepts as well as current legal issues relevant to patent lawyers. It will cover the basics, such as defining what is patentable and how to prosecute and protect patents, and then move onto a diverse range of patent issues applicable to both law firms and legal departments. Attendees will hear an overview of patent litigation and a review of the rights afforded to patent holders, as well as how and when to assert those rights. The program will also cover licensing and mergers and acquisitions issues, as well as the mechanics of proceedings before the USPTO and International Trade Commission. Attendees can also expect crucial updates of recent case law and patent law developments impacting the practice throughout the program.
