Quinn Emanuel’s Karl S. Stern to be Honored with the 2026 Karen H Susman Jurisprudence Award by the Anti-Defamation League Southwest Region

Quinn Emanuel’s Karl S. Stern and his wife Ann Stern will be honored jointly with the 2026 Karen H Susman Jurisprudence Award by the Anti-Defamation League Southwest region. Every year, ADL Southwest bestows this honor on leaders in the legal community who exemplify the values of equality, justice, fairness, and community service.

Karl is recognized as one of the nation’s leading trial lawyers in the energy sector, with more than 40 years of experience handling complex commercial disputes. He led the establishment of the Firm’s thriving Houston office and has headed the Firm’s energy practice. He has also championed access to justice through pro bono and legal aid initiatives and has served as a leader of a wide variety of civic organizations, including those supporting public health, the environment, and the arts. Karl is honored to share this recognition with his wife, Ann, who has led the Houston Endowment as President and CEO since 2012, steering the 88-year-old foundation with a dedicated focus on equity of opportunity and community-centered solutions in the Houston community.
