Our antitrust team has achieved a landmark class certification victory against Amazon in what is likely one of the largest classes ever certified in U.S. history.
Led by partners Steig Olson and Adam Wolfson, alongside Alicia Cobb and David LeRay, Quinn Emanuel is serving as executive class counsel in this case challenging Amazon's pricing policies. The case alleges that Amazon prevents third-party sellers from offering lower prices on competing platforms, potentially restricting price competition across online retail marketplaces.
U.S. District Judge John Chun issued a 50-page certification order, unsealed last week, certifying a nationwide class of over 200 million American consumers who have purchased from Amazon's third-party marketplace since May 2017.
This certification represents a significant development in the ongoing antitrust litigation. Amazon has indicated it will seek interlocutory review of the decision.
Quinn Emanuel is working alongside co-lead counsel Hagens Berman and Keller Postman as the case proceeds.
