Quinn Emanuel Team Secures Landmark Victory for Elon Musk and Tesla's Directors in Delaware Supreme Court

Quinn Emanuel partners Chris Michel, Chris Kercher, Alex Spiro, and Mike Barlow secured a landmark ruling in the Delaware Supreme Court for Elon Musk and Tesla’s directors, reinstating a 10-year incentive compensation plan that had been previously rescinded by the Delaware Chancery Court.

Following a hard-fought battle, the Delaware Supreme Court unanimously reinstated the 10-year incentive compensation plan—valued at roughly $56 billion at the time of the lower-court decision—which had been previously rescinded by the Delaware Chancery Court. The court found that Musk had fully met the performance milestones connected to the package and voiding it would leave him uncompensated for six years of work.
