Quinn Emanuel London Secures Court of Appeal Victory for Qualcomm

Today, the Court of Appeal handed down a unanimous judgment in favour of our client Qualcomm, overturning a first instance decision that would have revealed confidential licensing terms in the Apple v Optis litigation.
The Court agreed that sensitive commercial agreements between Qualcomm, Apple, and other major tech players including Google and InterDigital deserved protection from public disclosure - rejecting the first instance judge's ruling that these trade secrets should be published.
This landmark decision reaffirms that open justice must be balanced against legitimate commercial confidentiality, particularly where disclosure could damage competitive positions in the tech sector.
