The firm recently announced that it has elected 11 lawyers from seven different offices to its partnership. Five of the newly elected partners are women, and two are based in Europe, which is a testament to the firm’s commitment to inclusivity and excellence, as underscored by the firm’s leaders.
The newly elected partners are:
Sara C. Clark – Sara is based in our Houston and Washington, D.C. offices. A member of the firm’s Government Enforcement and White Collar Criminal Defense, Crisis Law and Strategy, and Latin American practice groups, she focuses her practice on complex and sensitive international and domestic internal and government investigations, as well as cross-border disputes. She advises clients on a broad range of international and domestic white-collar issues, including corruption, fraud, sanctions, international regulatory matters, money laundering, False Claims Act violations, and crisis management, with a particular focus on Latin American issues. Although her representations often focus on obtaining negotiated resolutions out of court and without indictment, she also has criminal trial and appellate experience. Sara has been ranked by “The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch, Commercial Litigation” from 2022 to 2025 and was recently interviewed on John B. Quinn’s Law, Disrupted podcast with other members of the trial team that obtained a dismissal of charges in the recent New Mexico manslaughter case against Alec Baldwin.
Nicola R. Felice – Nicola is based in our New York office. Her practice focuses on patent litigation and other intellectual property matters. Prior to joining the firm, Nicola served as a law clerk on the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Nicola has a diverse technical background, holding degrees in both biology and computer engineering.
Mario Gazzola – Mario is based in our New York office, having joined the firm in 2020. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy-related disputes, and international disputes with a focus on Brazil and Latin America. Mario has experience guiding clients through multi-jurisdiction disputes and coordinating litigation across various countries and forums, as well as trial experience in disputes over M&A, structured finance, trade secrets, and trademark disputes.
Mari Henderson – Mari is based in our Los Angeles office and worked as both Deputy District Attorney and as an on-air news reporter for NY1 News before joining the firm. Mari represents companies and individuals in high stakes litigation and advises clients navigating both the court of law and the court of public opinion. She helped spearhead the firm’s Crisis Law and Strategy practice group, which provides legal and public relations assistance to companies and individuals facing sensitive reputational issues. She has defended major California companies in cases ranging from employment discrimination to lawsuits stemming from one of the largest wildfires in California history. She has defended large internet companies in class action litigation and has provided advice to international companies regarding litigation issues that may impact them in the U.S. Mari has represented individual defendants in both state and federal criminal cases ranging from fraud to assault, weapons possession and animal neglect.
Nicholas LoCastro – Nicholas, who is based in our New York office, joined the firm in 2016. His practice focuses on pharmaceutical patent litigation and pharmaceutical contract disputes, including counseling clients on patent strategy, IP portfolio evaluation, pharmaceutical contract disputes, and an assortment of regulatory matters. He has represented clients in Hatch-Waxman litigations involving a wide array of pharmaceutical technologies, including drug formulations and method of treatment claims. Nicholas has experience in all stages of patent litigation, including claim construction, discovery, trial, and appeal.
Alex H. Loomis – Based in our Boston office, Alex has extensive experience in international and appellate litigation, especially in litigation involving foreign sovereigns and foreign judgment enforcement. Alex regularly leads dispositive motion and appellate briefing in federal and state courts around the country on a broad range of subject matters, including healthcare fraud, patent, antitrust, class actions, and general commercial litigation. Some of Alex’s notable victories include prevailing in a $100 million foreign judgment recognition action; seizing over $300 million in Argentinian bonds in the Southern District of New York and the Second Circuit; reversing an SEC judgment on appeal on novel personal jurisdiction grounds; obtaining a $17 million attachment in aid of arbitration in the Southern District of New York and the Second Circuit; and securing two precedential First Circuit victories that foreclosed a half dozen COVID-19 tuition-refund suits against universities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Jocelyn Ma – Based in our San Francisco office since 2017, Jocelyn previously worked on antitrust investigations and litigations at the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition. Jocelyn’s practice focuses on supporting companies in their most high-stakes, complex commercial and intellectual property disputes. Jocelyn has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in federal court, state court, and the International Trade Commission in matters involving patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, trademark infringement, false advertising, unfair competition, contract disputes, antitrust, and RICO. Jocelyn’s work spans a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, e-commerce, biotechnology, autonomous vehicles, search technology, mobile applications, fintech, and semiconductors, among others. Jocelyn has extensive experience in all stages of litigation; most recently, she helped obtain a nearly $100 million jury verdict for a genetic testing company in a patent case, and tried a breach of contract and copyright case where the jury awarded just $1 in damages despite the plaintiff seeking $160 million from our client. Jocelyn has been recognized as a “Recommended Lawyer” in Intellectual Property: Trade Secrets by Legal 500 USA.
Anil Makhijani - Anil joined our New York office in 2012. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and financial litigation. Prior to rejoining the firm in 2019, Anil helped lead the legal and operations work at the Human Diagnosis Project and worked as a cybersecurity attorney at IBM. Before school, Anil had a career as an engineer, working as a systems engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and a software engineer at Openplans. Anil also holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.
Manthi Wickramasooriya – Manthi is based in our London office. He specializes in international arbitration and commercial litigation, with over a decade of experience managing complex cross-border disputes. He has extensive experience litigating at all levels of the English courts, and has represented clients in high stakes commercial arbitrations under all major arbitral rules and most of the major arbitral seats. Manthi has experience across a range of industry sectors and regions but has particular expertise in M&A-related disputes and disputes arising from cross-border investments. Having spent two years practicing in Hong Kong, Manthi regularly advises APAC-based clients on UK disputes and London-seated arbitrations. A frequent speaker and published author, Manthi was recognized as a “Rising Star” for International Arbitration by Legal 500 UK in 2024 and 2025. He holds an MA (Honors) in Law from the University of Cambridge, where he was a Commonwealth Trust Scholar.
Kurt Wolfe – Kurt is based in our Washington, D.C. office and is a key member of our SEC Enforcement Practice. His practice focuses on government and internal investigations, regulatory enforcement inquiries, and securities litigation. Kurt has a wealth of experience representing clients in complex, bet-the-company investigations and enforcement actions and has a deep understanding of the securities regulatory and enforcement landscape. Public and private companies call on Kurt in a wide range of investigations and enforcement proceedings, including matters involving securities fraud, accounting fraud, FCPA violations, insider trading, and disclosure issues. Kurt has successfully defended clients in actions by the SEC, CFTC, PCAOB, FINRA, the U.S. Department of Justice, state securities regulators, securities exchanges, self-regulatory organizations, state attorneys general, and foreign criminal and civil regulatory agencies. Kurt often publishes and speaks on regulatory enforcement and compliance topics, such as SEC enforcement priorities and tactics, anti-bribery compliance and enforcement, and whistleblower programs, and has written or contributed to stories for Bloomberg, CBS News, Compliance Week, The Hill, The New York Times, NPR, Reuters, and Yahoo! Finance. He co-hosts a biweekly podcast that explores securities regulatory and enforcement developments.
Hafsa Zayyan – Hafsa is based in our London office, where she focuses on international arbitration and cross-border, complex litigation. After graduating with a first-class degree in Law from Cambridge, she went on to obtain a master’s degree from Oxford specializing in International Dispute Resolution. Hafsa regularly advises on complex commercial disputes, often with a civil fraud or asset-tracing angle, and has represented high-net worth individuals as well as multinational corporations across a range of sectors including natural resources, energy, and telecommunications. She has experience representing clients in arbitrations under the ICC, UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICSID, SIAC, DIFC-LCIA, and GCCCAC Rules, as well as ad-hoc arbitrations, and has particular experience in disputes arising in Africa, the CIS, and the Middle East. She also has significant experience in investment treaty disputes and public international law matters. Hafsa has been recognized as a Key Lawyer in the Legal 500 UK 2025 Edition for her work in the “Crime, Fraud and Licensing - Fraud: Civil” and “Public International Law” practice areas, and a Leading Associate in “International Arbitration.” She has been ranked as a “Rising Star, Up-and-Coming Women in UK Legal Industry” (2024) by Law.com.
