The Dubai office of Quinn Emanuel is dedicated solely to business disputes. Our Dubai team works with colleagues throughout the Firm's global network to service our clients' needs in both the United Arab Emirates and throughout the wider region, across all industry sectors.
Our lawyers specialise in complex high-value commercial and financial disputes, heard in litigation and arbitration. The team brings many years of experience of managing disputes across all forums in the UAE. Our lawyers have key expertise in conducting litigation in the UAE, including, the Dubai International Financial Courts and Abu Dhabi Global Markets Court, and international arbitration disputes under all of the major institutional rules including the LCIA, ICC, DIAC, HKIAC, SIAC, AAA, and UNCITRAL rules, and in ad hoc arbitrations.
The Dubai office is led by Joanne Strain and Parnika Chaturvedi. Joanne has over a decade of on-the-ground experience in the Middle East, providing strategic advice to clients navigating complex disputes across the GCC. She is an expert in common law litigation, representing clients in disputes before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts, the Abu Dhabi Global Markets Courts, and the Courts of England and Wales. Joanne has been recognized in the "Hall of Fame" by The Legal 500 and as a Band 3 ranked Lawyer by Chambers and Partners. Legal journals describe her as "an outstanding leader who is highly knowledgeable in her field" and "committed, unflappable, and great in a crisis."
Parnika specializes in international commercial arbitration and common law litigation, often representing clients in disputes with a cross-border element and proceedings in different jurisdictions. She has acted for clients in a wide range of financial, corporate, commercial, shareholder disputes across various sectors, including healthcare, trading, insurance, construction, commodities, retail, real estate, telecommunications, energy, and resources. Parnika has been recognized as a “Next Generation Partner” by The Legal 500 and as Band 5 lawyer by Chambers and Partners.
