Quinn Emanuel named partner Kathleen Sullivan has been highlighted in an article by The American Lawyer connecting her success and “elegance” in the courtroom to her impact as a legal educator in the classroom. Sullivan has spent the last 16 years building an appellate practice at the world’s largest litigation-only firm, but previously served as a professor at two prestigious law schools—dean of one of them. She now counts former students among her colleagues at the firm, who point out that she never really stopped teaching. Sullivan says she’s often asked if it was difficult to go from teaching to practicing law. It wasn’t, she answers, because the two sides of her career share a common thread: ”I’ve always tried to be a good mentor.”
