Viola Trebicka (Quinn Emanuel’s partner in the Los Angeles office and the co-chair of the firm's Data Privacy and Security Practice) and Xiao Liu (the firm’s Chair of China Practice) recently participated in a virtual summit celebrating the first anniversary of China’s Personal Information Protection Act, hosted by Chinese law firm Junhe LLP. Quinn Emanuel was the only U.S. law firm present, with Viola and Xiao presenting on the topics of the U.S. privacy protection framework and how Chinese privacy statutes affect cross-border discovery for Chinese companies engaged in U.S. litigation.
