Quinn Emanuel Partners Named ‘Litigators of the Week’ by The American Lawyer for Victory on Behalf of Ambac Financial Group

Quinn Emanuel partners Michael Carlinsky and Manisha Sheth, alongside Patterson Belknap partner Peter Tomlinson, have just been named ‘Litigators of the Week’ by The American Lawyer after securing an historic win in the New York State Supreme Court on behalf of the financial services holding company, Ambac Financial Group.

 

The dispute arose over 17 residential mortgage-backed securitizations sponsored by Countrywide, which was later bought by mortgage giant Bank of America. After five weeks of trial, the team, led by Carlinsky and Sheth, settled what has been referred to as "the trial of a decade-and-a-half ago" for $1.84 billion.
