Quinn Emanuel's Alexander "AJ" Merton Named Co-Managing Partner of Washington, D.C. Office

We are delighted to announce that Alexander "AJ" Merton has been named Co-Managing Partner of Quinn Emanuel's Washington, D.C. office.

A seasoned trial lawyer and trusted advisor to many, AJ is an 11-year veteran of the firm joins Meghan McCaffrey in leading the expanding Washington, D.C. office. His experience includes representing companies, boards, senior executives and government officials in parallel criminal and civil proceedings, as well as in domestic and cross-border investigations.

His recent work encompasses extensive matters before Senate and House committees, including high-profile congressional oversight inquiries, bicameral antitrust investigations, and national security-related proceedings. AJ has also advised cabinet and sub-cabinet nominees in Senate confirmation hearings and represented leading institutions and corporations in sensitive, high-visibility disputes involving antitrust, tax and regulatory enforcement issues.

Beyond his practice, AJ has been recognized as a Global Leader in Crisis Management by Lawdragon and twice named The American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Week. He has also been selected for Bloomberg Law’s “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40” and ranked in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch.
