Following a two week bench trial in the Southern District of New York, Judge Jesse Furman issued a comprehensive judgment for Quinn Emanuel’s client, ChemImage. The Court found that J&J’s Ethicon improperly terminated the parties’ agreement to develop cutting edge, AI-based hyperspectral imaging technology. Friday’s ruling shines a light on the challenges innovators face in the MedTech industry and justly restores ChemImage’s ownership of technology it spent decades developing. The Court’s significant damages award also recognizes the harm Ethicon caused ChemImage.
Our powerhouse team was led by Partners Andrew Rossman and Courtney Whang and Chief Technology Counsel Ron Hagiz, with exceptional work from Of Counsel Jimmy Bieber and Associates Sarah Bittman, Jack Furness, Carolina Yu, and Temi Omilabu.
