CHICAGO – Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, announced that Sean Suber has joined the firm as a partner in its Chicago office.
Suber is a trial and appellate lawyer who represents parties in complex litigation, class actions, product liability, and mass tort matters across a broad range of industries. He has represented dozens of companies and individuals in high-profile cases, trials, appeals and arbitrations, well suited to help clients navigate the class action and product liability risks emerging in evolving sectors such as technology and artificial intelligence as those industries draw increasing scrutiny.
Suber has built a broad class action defense practice, routinely securing dismissals and favorable resolutions of high-profile suits alleging false advertising, mislabeling, and other consumer-facing claims across industries — experience that has prepared him to help clients confront the similar theories now surfacing against companies developing new products and technologies.
He has served as trial counsel in product liability and mass tort matters spanning agricultural biotechnology, aviation, and medical devices, including trials alleging that a prominent agricultural product caused cancer, and litigation arising from aviation accidents in Indonesia and Ethiopia. He was part of the trial teams that pursued and defended what have been widely reported as two of the largest defamation settlements in U.S. history.
