Stephen Wood is the managing partner of the firm’s Salt Lake City Office. Mr. Wood is a highly regarded trial lawyer who has successfully represented clients in both trial and appellate courts in cases throughout the United States. His practice focuses on corporate governance and commercial contract disputes. He is an expert in corporate fiduciary duties, successfully representing clients in cases involving shareholder derivative actions, internal board disputes, and ERISA class actions. Mr. Wood’s clients also turn to him to help solve their most difficult corporate management problems including internal investigations, executive/founder departure disputes, corporate raids by competitors, and trade secret misappropriation by departing employees. Clients routinely praise Mr. Wood’s ability to understand the needs of the business as a whole and effectively resolve disputes before they pose a larger threat.
Mr. Wood is active in international legal scholarship, including both as a member of the International Bar Association and publishing in the American Journal of Comparative Law and in legal journals in Brazil. He is a proud supporter of the Utah Minority Bar Association. Outside of work, he is an avid adventurer with his wife and three daughters, hiking, skiing, climbing, flyfishing and racing mountain bikes.
